Does everyone feel extra special on their birthday? I know for some people it goes by and they don't really want it to be noticed, but whenever anyone says 'Happy Birthday!' to me, be it someone I don't know very well or my closest friend, I get a snug warm feeling in my tummy.
Not only did many people at college wish me a happy birthday but one of my friends got me a lovely little birthday present! As all my friends know how much I adore London, my close friend Hannah got me a London themed notebook set, which is dinky enough to put in my handbag and jot down anything that comes to mind. I have been told many times that you should always carry a notebook. You can collect inspiration anywhere :)
After college I went back to my boyfriend Jamie's house as I was staying the night. I knew that he had a surprise for me, but I couldn't think what. When we finally arrived, I was greeted by a large spread of presents and cards! Usually I can't cope very well with all eyes being on me, so I had to resist the urge to hide my face in my hands when Jamie and his family were watching my reactions to presents. Fortunately his mum, who is one of the loveliest women in the world I'm sure of it, asked if I wanted to open my presents with everyone or just with Jamie. Obviously I

Fortunately his mum, who is one of the loveliest women in the world I'm sure of it, asked if I wanted to open my presents with everyone or just with Jamie. Obviously I
requested as graciously as I could to be left with just him.
The presents from his mum, step-dad and brother were all brilliant, I almost knew what each one was immediately after I started unwrapping them. My favourite perfume, my favourite chocolate and a scented candle, as candles are a bit of an addiction of mine. I could remember exactly when each piece of this information was fished out of me. I could't get over how thoughtful it was that they'd remembered the random little tidbits about me that led to them buying me these gifts.
I saved the pressies from my man last. More chocolate, my absolute favourite film on DVD and a set of colour changing candles! All this, despite the fact I had told him not to get me anything! I felt spoiled.
As if I wasn't lucky enough, he told me I could have whatever I wanted for dinner. I went with a classic choice of ours: dominos pizza. He sneaked a tub of Ben & Jerry's chocolate fudge brownie ice cream into the order. Naughty boyfriend.
Before the pizza arrived, there was one last surprise. A chocolate cake complete with candles was brought it as everyone sang 'Happy Birthday' and 'For she's a jolly good fellow'. This time I did hide my face in my hands and blush, there was no stopping it!
The evening ended with Jamie and I watching my new DVD with dominos pizza, ice cream and a bottle of wine. I was utterly, utterly spoiled and I feel so very lucky.
